One Herd Education Symposium

2026 Symposium

Goal

Texas A&M AgriLife Veterinary Science Certificate Program will offer three full days of sharing, learning, and networking for animal science educators. This professional development opportunity will provide teachers training to develop and plan curriculum, receive hands-on training to take back to the classroom, and insight on promoting animal science and veterinary medicine careers. Many different aspects of animal science courses, curriculum and industry will be included.

 

Day 1:  General Sessions                                                                                                  June 16, 2026

  • General Sessions: Hot topics in animal science industry

Day 2: Short Course Excursions                                                                                    June 17, 2026

  • Full day of hands on learning for attendees at multiple off site locations.
  • Each attendee will choose their preferred track.
  • Limit of 20 per excursion. First to register will be guaranteed their choice.
  • Excursion options are listed on the schedule.
  • An excursion choice form will be sent to registered attendees closer to the event date.

REGISTRATION

2026 Registration Coming Soon!

  • Cost of the event: 
  • All meals are included in the price of registration.
  • Registration opens on February 1, 2026.
  • Open to all educators regardless of location or state.
  • Registration is limited to 100 attendees.
  • Extra night(s) lodging available for additional fee
  • Grant funds available for those who qualify
  • Grant funding priority for educators from low resource schools

Qualifications for full grant fees to cover the registration to include partial housing fees 

  1. Must be a High School or Middle School Public School Teacher in the United States and meet 1 of the 2 following requirements.
    1. Low Resource School – 40% of your student population lives under the poverty level (receives free or reduced lunch)
    2. Rural School – defined as a county with less than 50,000 people or a town with a population less than 5,000. .
